Two Cosmic Events, One Message: Clean Up the Past to Make Room for What’s Coming

This week in the sky, two things are happening at once — and together, they tell a clear story: process the past, because a bigger shift is quietly building underneath it.

 New Moon in Cancer (July 14th)

Normally, a New Moon means “fresh start, plant new seeds.” This one’s different. Mercury is retrograde and sitting right on top of it, so instead of launching something new, this New Moon is asking you to go back and finish what you left unfinished — the hard conversation you never had, the old hurt you never fully worked through, the version of yourself you’re still carrying around from before.

What you might feel:

The Planetary “Basket” (July 18–22nd)

Right after, four of the slowest-moving planets — Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — line up in a rare pattern astrologers call a “basket.” These planets don’t move fast or loud. They work underground, like roots settling before anything visible grows. Often called the “Barbault Basket” named after French astrologer Andre’ Barbault.
