Your donations for this event will go to The W.I.S.E. Outreach which stands for wood, insulation, stove, and essentials.
Elders who have kept their wood stoves for many decades are beginning to fall apart from over usage, drywalls and insulation entirely missing because of leaks in the roof. Little to no firewood periodically throughout the winter months makes a hard season to bear for those who find themselves in this situation, especially if they are lacking in all of the above.
Good quality wood stoves are on average $1200-1800, depending on size. Cord of wood is on average $150 which lasts roughly a month. Insulation repair, depending on the extent of need, is about a few hundred dollars per project. Essentials—like water, toilet paper, flashlight, dry goods,…etc.—are about 3$00. So on average each family we will be helping would run about $2,000 or so.
